En av de store skikkelsene innen polarhistorien er Adolf Henrik
Lindstrøm fra Hammerfest. Han deltok på alle viktige ekspedisjoner som har gjort Norge til en polarnasjon. Lindstrøm var
med både Nansen, Amundsen og Sverdrup på deres ekspedisjoner, både mot Nordpolen og til Sydpolen. Han har seilt
Nordvest passasjen og rundet det amerikanske kontinent og er
den nordmann som har lengst fartstid i Arktis og i Antarktis
noensinne. Gruppen tar buss fra Hurtigruten til “Framheim” på
Salen. Etter å ha fått på oss varme klær gjennomfører vi en ekspedisjon til fots, til toppen av Salen fjellet. Her får man virkelig føle
hvordan det er å ferdes ute om vinteren i Arktis. Vi plasserer flagget på toppen av Salen før vi returnerer. Vel nede i “Framheim”

INTO THE ICE – STORIES OF A POLAR HERO
One of the greatest men in polar history has to be Adolf Henrik
Lindstrøm from Hammerfest. He was a team member on all the
notable expeditions that contributed to Norway’s status as a
polar nation. Lindstrøm joined Nansen, Amundsen and Sverdrup
to the North Pole and South Pole. He sailed through the Northwest Passage and around the American continent. He remains
the most experienced Norwegian Arctic and Antarctic explorer
of all time. On this excursion, you’ll go on an expedition to the
top of Mount Salen in Lindstrøm’s home town. The bus will pick
us up at the pier and take us to Cafe Framheim at the base of
Mount Salen. We’ll then change into warm clothes and ascend
to the peak on foot, in true Arctic style. When we reach the top,
we’ll plant a flag and then return to base camp at the Framheim
for a well-deserved taste of Lindstrøm’s favourite recipes.

Eine bekannte, norwegische Persönlichkeit war der aus Hammerfest stammende Adolf Henrik Lindstrøm. Er nahm an allen
Polarexpeditionen teil, die Norwegens Ruf als Polarnation formten und begleitete Nansen, Amundsen und Sverdrup auf ihren
Expeditionen zum Nord- und Südpol. Lindstrøm durchquerte
außerdem die Nordwestpassage und umrundete den amerikanischen Kontinent. Als Kenner der arktischen und antarktischen
Gebiete galt der Norweger bald als bester Experte seines Landes.
Der Bus fährt uns von der Pier zum „Framheim“, das auf dem
Stadtberg Salen liegt. Mit warmer Kleidung ausgestattet starten
wir zu Fuß in Richtung Bergspitze. Hier werden Sie am eigenen
Leib erfahren, was es heißt, den arktischen Elementen ausgesetzt zu sein. Auf der Bergspitze angekommen, hissen wir die
Flagge und kehren anschließend zum „Café Framheim“ zurück,
um eines von Lindstrøms Lieblingsrezepten zu kosten.

SUR LES TRACES D’UN HÉROS POLAIRE
L’un des personnages les plus impressionnants de l’histoire des
expéditions polaires est sans nul doute Adolf Henrik Lindstrøm,
natif d’Hammerfest. Il fut de toutes les expéditions qui donnèrent
à la Norvège son statut de nation polaire. Lindstrøm accompagna
Nansen, Amundsen et Sverdrup dans leurs expéditions au pôle
Nord et au pôle Sud, emprunta le passage maritime du NordOuest et navigua autour du continent américain. Il est le Norvégien ayant acquis la plus grande expérience des zones arctique et
antarctique de tous les temps. Et il fut un cuisinier très estimé. Le
bus viendra vous chercher au pied de la jetée pour vous emmener au café « Framheim », sur le mont Salen. Après avoir revêtu
des chaussures à crampons, des bonnets et des gants, vous partirez faire une expédition à pied au sommet de la montagne, et
découvrirez ainsi les sensations procurées par la vie en extérieur,
à la merci des éléments arctiques. Vous planterez un drapeau au
sommet et retournerez au « Framheim » pour goûter à des plats
polaires, certains basés sur des recettes préparées par Lindstrøm.

lånes ut. Diverse: Fjellturen er i stigende terreng, ikke bratt. Deltakere må være i god fysisk form. EN: Transport: bus. Meal on trip: food tasting of steak a la
Lindstrøm and hotcakes. Clothing/footwear: hiking shoes, warm and windproof clothing. Special clothing, walking sticks and spikes are provided. Note: the
mini expedition is uphill but not at a steep gradient. Participants should be in good physical shape. DE: Transportmittel: Bus. Ausflugsverpflegung: Kostprobe
Steak a la Lindstrøm, Pfannkuchen. Kleidung/Schuhwerk: Wanderschuhe und warme, winddichte Kleidung. Zusätzliche Thermo-Kleidung, Wanderstöcke
und Spikes werden gestellt. Hinweis: Diese “Mini-Expedition” findet auf ansteigendem Terrain statt, das jedoch nicht steil ist. Teilnehmer sollten in guter
körperlicher Verfassung sein. F : Transport : Bus. Collation au cours de l’excursion : Dégustation du steak à la Lindstrøm, petits pains. Équipement : Chaussures
de randonnée / coupe-vent chaud. Veste chaude, gants, chapeau, bâtons et pointes de marche seront fournis. À noter : La mini-expédition se déroule sur
terrain grimpant mais pas raide. Les participants doivent être en bonne conditions physique.
